Charity Governance Awards 2022
We're delighted to be shortlisted for a Charity Governance Award in the Board Equity, Diversity and Inclusion category for the work we do to make our Board accessible and inclusive for people with lived experience of learning disabilities, autism and mental ill health.
Experts by Experience are at the heart of everything we do and we’re incredibly proud that the voices of lived experience are represented at every level of our organisation, ranging from our Board of Directors to our team of staff and volunteers.
We are committed to making sure our Board continues to evolve and empower our directors and we’ve introduced a number of initiatives to help us do this, ranging from an annual self-assessment of the Board, ongoing coaching and mentoring, investment in Board support worker roles and a Board meeting accessibility toolkit along with the establishment of Board sub-committees to progress and monitor key areas of work.
The winners will be announced on 26 May 2022 – find out more at Your Voice Counts - The Charity Governance Awards.
‘It’s important for people with learning disabilities to be on boards, because we all have a right to be equal and to have a voice.’ (Lisa Kelly, Co-Chair, Your Voice Counts).
