What people say

Kym, Peer Advocate at the

Jarrow drop-in

“Volunteering at the drop-in has helped me to get my confidence back – you can be yourself and speak openly”

Les, drop-in user

“You feel like you’re listened to. Taken as an equal. When I go to see people, like doctors,  they talk down to me. It’s like I’m not there. Coming here is different. I’ve not been listened to properly before”

Daryl, client

“The reason I wanted an advocate is that other people think they know best.. they try and control you. My advocate asked me what I wanted. He lets me choose for myself.”
