Your Voice Counts Advocacy Services

How can a Your Voice Counts advocate help you?

An advocate is someone who can help you speak up about what is important to you.

An advocate can:

  • listen to your views and concerns

  • help you explore your options and rights

  • provide information to help you make informed decisions

  • help you contact relevant people, or contact them on your behalf

  • accompany you and support you in meetings or appointments

An advocate will not:

  • give you their personal opinion

  • make decisions for you

  • make judgements about you

If you think you, or someone you know, would benefit from an advocate’s support, you can call us on 0191 478 6472 or email mail@yvc.org.uk to find out more. We’ll let you know if someone from our organisation can help you, or if they can’t, we’ll aim to connect you to another organisation who can.
