General Advocacy
Information for professionals
Who is General Advocacy for?
General Advocacy is for people who are facing a specific challenge or decision and would benefit from the support of an advcoate to understand their rights and put their point across. It is for people who are not eligible for a statutory advocacy service.
What does General Advocacy involve?
We can listen to views and concerns and help people explore their options and rights. We can also provide information to help people make informed decisions and connect people to relevant organisations that can also provide support. We can accompany people to meetings and appointments but we will not give our personal opinion, make decisions or judgements.
What areas does the service cover?
We can offer our General Advocacy service in the South Tyneside area.
