Equal People Gateshead is a group for people with learning disabilities and autistic people
who live in Gateshead
We meet to talk about how the health and social care services we receive can get better. We share
our views and our experiences. Sometimes people who work for organisations such as the council,
NHS and charities come along to ask us questions and find out what we think of their work.
When do we meet?
We meet on the last Monday of every month, from 1:00pm to 2:30pm.
Where do we meet?
We meet at the TEAMs Life Centre, Askew Road West, Gateshead, NE8 2PW.
How do we make a difference?
Your Voice Counts believes in listening to and helping people with different needs and abilities to bring about positive change themselves. Equal People gives us the chance to do this by sharing our views directly with the people who are responsible for providing services for people with learning disabilities in our area. We do this by:

talking about how the services we receive can get better

sharing our views and experiences about things that are important to us

meeting with staff from services who want to hear our opinions.

working with Gateshead Council to help improve the support available in Gateshead.
