Introducing our new Senior Advocates

We've recently welcomed three new Senior Advocates who have joined our team to oversee our advocacy service and ensure we provide an effective and high-quality service across the region.

Meet Terri

Terri has joined Your Voice Counts after working in the NHS for 13 years and brings a wealth of experience from working across autism, neuropsychology and learning disability services.

Terri has a special interest in psychology and holds multiple qualifications including BSc (Hons) Psychology and Health Science, Post Graduate Certificate (PGCert in Psychology) and Post Graduate Diploma (PGDip in Psychology and Social Care).

Meet Gillian

A fully qualified advocate, Gillian has extensive experience of providing and managing an independent NHS complaints advocacy service and is passionate about ensuring people have the support they need to understand their rights and navigate the processes they are part of.

Before becoming an advocate, Gillian was a secondary school teacher for over 20 years and is also multilingual, speaking French, German and Italian.

Meet Helen

Helen became an advocate because she is passionate about human rights and supporting others to have a voice.

Helen joined the Your Voice Counts advocacy team in 2022 having worked as an advocate at the Alzheimer’s Society for three years prior to that. Before becoming an advocate, she worked across adult social care services in Deprivation of Liberty Safeguards (DoLS) teams and performance management.

She has a BA hons Degree in Business Management and an Advanced GNVQ in Health and Social Care.
