Understanding autistic people's experiences of being diagnosed with autism - regional data available

In 2023 we were commissioned by the North East and North Cumbria Integrated Care Board (NENC IC) to carry out a peer research project around the support people receive before, during and after the process of being diagnosed with autism.

Working across the region, our researchers designed, delivered and wrote up the research which was framed around finding out what support people think would be useful and who should deliver this.

We published our overall findings in this report and presentation last year and are now pleased to publish our analysis of the data collected broken down by region to share insight into the experiences of people living in each of the areas that are part of the NENC ICB (County Durham, Darlington, Gateshead, Hartlepool, Middlesbrough, Newcastle upon Tyne, North Cumbria, North Tyneside, Northumberland, Redcar and Cleveland, South Tyneside, Stockton-on-Tees and Sunderland).
