Find your next opportunity with the Your Voice Counts Communities team
The Communities team at Your Voice Counts works across Gateshead and South Tyneside to provide opportunities for people with learning disabilities and autistic people to find their voice, connect with others and gain control over their lives.
Who we are
There are now over 30 people in the team, with nearly half of our colleagues having lived experience of learning disabilities, autism, mental illness or other challenges. We believe in co-production and using the power of lived experience to make sure our services meet the needs of the people we work with and our lived experience colleagues are at the heart of us getting this right.
What we do
The Communities team is currently running 31 projects covering health, wellbeing, community connection, digital inclusion, peer research, training, coaching, employability, independent living skills, finances and an influential Commissioning Officer role and we're proud that we're now supporting over 200 people in Gateshead and South Tyneside.
What can we offer you? We pride ourselves on our warm and welcoming environment and are looking forward to new colleagues joining the team as our service grows and expands to help even more people in the region.
