We recently delivered two awareness raising sessions with over 70 staff from South Tyneside local authority, focusing on the role of independent advocacy and how Your Voice Counts can support people to be heard in decisions that affect their lives.
These sessions strengthened partnerships and highlighted our shared commitment to ensuring people access the right support at the right time. We covered:
What independent advocacy is
Who is entitled to advocacy
When advocacy should be offered
How to make timely referrals
Scenarios of advocacy in action
How advocacy can support people to be heard and involved in decisions about their lives.
Thank you to all who took part and contributed to these meaningful sessions. Together, we’re building a stronger, more informed system that puts people’s voices and rights at the centre.
If you're unsure whether advocacy could help someone you're working with, we're here to help. Learn more about our services at www.yvc.org.uk/advocacy or get in touch at mail@yvc.org.uk if you'd like us to deliver a session for your own service.
