What does an advocate do?

We often get asked about what being an advocate actually means and what we do to provide our services.

Our advocates provide a range of advocacy services, including Community Case Advocacy, Independent Mental Capacity Advocacy, Independent Mental Health Advocacy, Independent Care Act Advocacy and a Paid Relevant Person’s Representative service. We're trained specialists with a detailed understanding of the laws that apply in these cases and the processes and procedures that should be followed to make sure people's rights are upheld.

However, running through all of our advocacy services is the belief that people have a right to have their voices heard and a number of principles that guide how we make this happen. Press play below for a snapshot of what this means in reality.
