Out and about during Learning Disability Week 2024

Our Communities and Advocacy teams support people with learning disabilities across Gateshead and South Tyneside. We help people to develop their skills, confidence and social networks and support them to understand and speak up for their rights.

We’re proud to be taking part in Learning Disability Week 2024 and are grateful for the partner organisations we work alongside to provide the support that people in our communities need.

Thank you to everyone joining our events and activities and to South Tyneside Council, Gateshead Council and all the other charities working in our area who have organised events for people to enjoy.

• Monday 17 June: SEND Information, Advice and Support in South Tyneside session at 3.45pm at Epinay School, South Shields

• Tuesday 18 June: The Your Voice Counts Oscars

• Wednesday 19 June: South Tyneside Voice of the Person session at 10.30am at Grange Road Baptist Church, Jarrow

• Wednesday 19 June: Know Your Neighbourhood photography exhibition at 1:00pm at the Word, South Shields

• Friday 21 June: SEND Supported Employment Forum launch event at the Fed
